Culture

We take great pride in being a cultural hub that celebrates the vibrancy and richness of contemporary African music. Our deep understanding and appreciation of diverse youth cultures guide every aspect of our events, creating an immersive experience that resonates with the culture.

We strive to create an environment that celebrates the freedom of youth, expression, creativity and unity.

The BlockParty series goes beyond music. It is an institution that celebrates youth culture and promotes cross-cultural connections across several African cities.

Come vibe with us, engage in unforgettable fun and connect with individuals who share your passion for African culture.

About Us

The BlockParty series celebrates youth, creativity, diversity, collaboration, music, and everything nice that makes us authentically African. We see our festivals as a community gathering where young people can come have fun and freely express themselves without the fear of being maligned.

The BlockParty series started in 2018 as the Mainland BlockParty. Today, it has become the most culturally relevant youth festival out of Africa, boasting a combined annual footfall of about 250,000. Hosted in 7 cities across 3 countries and 2 continents, the BlockParty series is curated by The Plug.

Now ingrained into African pop culture and the urban festival scene, the BlockParty series has become a platform for emerging stars to upscale their visibility and intimately connect with music lovers.

Some of the biggest African acts including Tems, Ayra StarrJoeboy, BNXN, Blaqbonez, CKay, Omah Lay, Oxlade, BOJ, Victony, Ajebo Hustlers, Ruger, Fave, Raebel and countless others have graced the BlockParty stage. The Platform helped thrust a number of aforementioned acts into stardom by underlining their relevance in Nigeria’s music culture.
